Nidhivan: A Mysterious Place in Vrindavan
Spiritual Place: Nidhivan is nestled in the heart of the people in Vrindavan, a town in Mathura, a district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is considered an energetic and mysterious place in Hindu history, particularly associated with the love and blessing of Shri Krishna and Radha Rani. The mystery is deeply rooted in religious belief and mystical events.
Radha Rani and Shri Krishna
Radha Rani and Shri Krishna have had a fascinating love story over the centuries, and today’s youth also admire them. The names of Radha Rani and Shri Krishan are taken together as one: RADHA KRISHNA. It is believed to be the place where Shri Krishna performed Ras Leela (a divine dance) with his beloved Radha Rani and other Gopis. After the evening arti (around 8 pm), the gates close, and nobody (even animals) is allowed to stay inside after 8 pm in Nidhivan. This rule comes from the belief that Radha Rani and Shri Krishna, along with their gopis, come to the temple at night to perform their divine dance called Ras Leela. The Knot Trees
The trees are unique, short, tangled trees, and their leaves are primarily Tulsi (holy basil). The uniqueness of these trees is that they remain loaded with green leaves throughout the year, even after their barks are hollow and the land is dry. The other interesting fact is that at the time of Ras Leela, the trees transform into Gopi’s, and after Ras, they will return to their original shapes.
Rang Mahal a Spiritual Place
Rang Mahal, also known as Sleeping Temple, is located in Nidhivan. It is a place where Radha Rani and Shri Krishna come to relax after their Ras. The temple has a bed made of sandalwood, which was made by the priest. The priest placed ornaments like bangles, along with flowers and clothes of Radha Rani, Tulsi leaves, Neem twigs, which are used as toothbrushes, sweets, and a jar full of water beside the bed.
After all this, the priest locked the doors of Rang Mahal and Nidhivan. Every morning, the bed looks as if someone has slept on it, the neem twigs look used, and the jar full of water is also empty. The clothes and ornaments left for Shri Krishna and Radha Rani are scattered all over the place.
Supernatural Appearances
There are some rules associated with the place that locals believed if anyone stays in after sunset, they will either go blind, mad, or dead. The spiritual belief of devotees and locals, they heard the sound of anklets, ghungroos, and music at the time of Ras.
